Xiaomi has revamped the design of the Redmi range with the new Redmi 5 Plus and its younger brother the Redmi 5. We see a screen almost 6" in size with designs similar to the Redmi Note 5 models. The usable area is 77%, a significant improvement on the 72% found on the previous Redmi Note 4 models. Xiaomi has opted for the Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor for this handset, and although it is not the most powerful (with an Antutu score of around 77,000 points on version 7), the processor has more than enough power for daily use and limited battery consumption.
The 4000 mAh battery won't leave us high and dry thanks to the processor and the well optimized MIUI. We are assured of good battery life with this handset.
Connectivity has its pros and cons, given that we have a Global version, that supports more bands than the Chinese version, which also comes without pre-installed Google services, take care, shop could sell it without Google services.
The Xiaomi Redmi 5 Plus is not a mobile conceived for photography lovers, given that its Omnivision OV12A10 sensor, as used previously by Xiaomi in the Xiaomi Mi A1, is a basic sensor that will work fine with enought light, but with a lot of problems on dark scenes. In reality, it is a sensor in keeping with the price of the handset, which is very competitive, making it one of the best options in terms of value for money that you can find on the market.
